This isn't hugely creative, but I thought I'd show you my organizational makeover of my storage closet.
Here are the before photos:
Since I moved in, things had been just placed in the room, but not organized. This is the closet in the master bedroom, but since my "closet" is in one of the guest rooms, I use this for linen and misc. storage. I also use it for overflow storage for the bathroom, which is small.
So, here are the after photos . . . I like having a rack to display my headbands, most of which I made. I took the huge filing cabinet out (which was from the previous person living here.), which gave me a lot more room.
And, in other news . . . here is a funky little cabinet I picked up at the Tulsa Flea Market. It has some damage on the back which I will need to fix, but otherwise it is in decent shape. The vendor just took an old box and sprayed it red. I don't even think they cleaned it first, but generally, it is in good shape. I'll be reparing it, adding some new knobs, and lining the drawers with velvet. See the drawers on the far sides? They are vertical, and I think they once held bottles. Great potential!
This is next on my project list . . . I plan to pull everything down from the shelf, and reorganize. At that point, I'll decide if it needs a second shelf above it. I have ordered fabric, and plan to make a drape to go over the shelves to cover all the "stuff". This is laundry room stuff, as well as doggy stuff, so it all needs to be within reach.
Finally, these fun magazine holders came today for my office. Aren't they cute?Snap-N-Store Magazine File Box, 14 x 13 x 1 Inches, Black and White Scroll Pattern (SNS01837)
