Design Room: Client Show and Tell

Last year, a friend from Church asked me to redecorate a few rooms of her home. Here are some before and afters from that project.

This is what the room looked like before. It was a catchall room for lots of stuff that didn't have a home elsewhere.

The client wanted a peaceful space. We chose a creamy yellow color for the walls, and went with pale teal and brown for the design.

We kept two pieces of furniture from the original room; the couch, and a half-round console table in the photo below.

The furniture is from Overstock.com, as are the drapes. The rug is from Rug's Direct. The art is from various online sources.

You can see the painting the the client wanted for over the bed. We updated the frame, as it was an old family favorite, but needed to be brought into the design with the new furniture. In this case, the client had just purchased this bed, nightstands, dresser and mirror, but wanted soft furnishings, and decor to go with it.
